Information is the most effective influence on societies, for it leads to a transformation. A study revealed that in 2002, 37,000 Library of Congress equivalent of information is released in the world. How much do we know? How much do we need? How much of it were intended to transform the conscious mind? How do we know which data is accurate? The important question is, are we aware that information sharing has become too powerful for a communication tool?
The ultimate nature of reality is informational. One may argue that our knowledge of reality is either trivial or false, but it does not change the fact that a conscious mind sets his actions according to the information he is exposed to. Nowadays, knowledge is not a matter of describing or constructing, but designing and modeling reality. Plato’s Cave is back again but this time with millions and millions of illusions. Forget about getting out of Plato’s Cave, Cave itself may well be in the Sextus’ dark room.
I believe that freedom of information release is detrimental for the welfare of a society. Ideas on why and how to resolve it, soon…
